Impact of indigenous microorganisms on soil microbial and enzyme activities

چکیده
The effect of Indigenous microorganisms (IMO’s) on the native soil was investigated in the present study. Supplementation of IMO’s suspension to the soil alters the physico-chemical, biological and enzyme properties of the soil. These alternations include decreases in P from 7.2 to 6.8, increase in electrical conductivity 0.36 to 1.21 (μmohs/cm), water holding capacity 0.36 to 2.2ml/g of soil of control and test soils respectively. There is increase in soil texture like clay, phosphorous and potassium in the test soil. Enzyme activities such as protease and urease were assessed in both the soil samples with and without amendment of respective substrates (casein and urea). Accumulation of hydrolytic products tyrosine and ammonia from the substrates in the soil was estimated at periodic intervals. Protease and urease enzyme activities were relatively higher in soil amended with IMO’s and respective substrate than control.

Impact of Environmental Stress-Tolerant Transgenic Potato on Genotypic Diversity of Microbial Communities and Soil Enzyme Activities under Stress Conditions.
Transgenic crops able to tolerate environmental stress are being developed throughout the world. However, little data is available on the impact of environmental stress-tolerant transgenic crops on soil microorganisms and biochemistry. Recently developed transgenic potato plants carrying an environmental stress-related gene, DREB1A, with a stress-inducible promoter, are being evaluated for grow...
متن کاملImpact of silver ions and silver nanoparticles on the plant growth and soil microorganisms
There is a growing consumer market for products that proclaim to decrease microorganism counts to prevent infections. Most of these products are loaded with silver in its ionic or nanoparticle form. Through use or during production, these particles can find their way into the soil and cause an impact in microbial and plant communities. This study aims to evaluate the impact of silver based part...
متن کاملWater regime history drives responses of soil Namib Desert microbial communities to wetting events
Despite the dominance of microorganisms in arid soils, the structures and functional dynamics of microbial communities in hot deserts remain largely unresolved. The effects of wetting event frequency and intensity on Namib Desert microbial communities from two soils with different water-regime histories were tested over 36 days. A total of 168 soil microcosms received wetting events mimicking f...
متن کاملProduction and characterization of biochemical properties of L-Asparaginase by indigenous yeast isolated from soil of Iran
Introduction: The use of L-asparaginase as a chemotherapeutic agent is an effective strategy for the treatment of leukemic lymphoblasts. Since the use of bacterial L-asparaginase causes side effects due to hypersensitivity reactions, search for new enzyme sources is one of the active research areas. In this study, the characterization of produced L-asparaginase by indigenous yeast strains was i...
متن کاملSome Investigation on Bioremediation of PahsContaminated Soil in Iran Tar Refinery
The main purpose of this research is studying the possibility of bioremediation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) contaminated soils in Iran’s tar refinery area located in Isfahan. For many years a great quantity of tar produced by neighboring metallurgical plant has been stored in lagoons as natural reservoirs, causing the contamination of soil in this area. Microorganisms capable of ...
